James Burns, Lewistown, letter to James McManus, Harrisburg, Pa., 1844 April 18.

James Burns writes to James McManus, Pennsylvania House of Representatives, requesting him to attach a bill forwarded to McManus by E.L. Benedict concerning "Sequestrators." Burns complains that the Whigs and anti-masons have control of the turnpike road from Lewistown to Huntingdon and they are using their power to advance their party at the expense of the Democrats.
